About Khmer Hidden Home Restaurant

The ambiance at Khmer Hidden Home Restaurant melds rustic charm with a quiet intimacy, offering a sense of retreat from the bustling energy typical of the area. Soft lighting and simple décor complement the traditional Khmer aesthetic without overwhelming the senses. Diners often remark that the atmosphere encourages leisurely meals, where the subtle hum of neighboring tables blends with the occasional clink of plates. The balance of casual comfort and cultural authenticity undoubtedly shapes the overall experience, yet some might find the space less suited for larger groups or high-spirited gatherings.

Among the notable highlights on the Khmer Hidden Home Restaurant menu are classic Cambodian dishes prepared with evident care, though not all selections maintain the same level of consistency. The fish amok, a coconut-based curry, tends to draw favorable comments for its creamy texture and fragrant spices, contrasting with the slightly uneven seasoning found in certain stir-fried options. Observing widely shared photos from recent patrons can provide a richer sense of portion sizes and presentation, which lean toward straightforward and unpretentious. While the prices remain accessible, occasional delays in service suggest that efficiency occasionally yields to the attention given to crafting each plate.

Exploring the online reviews reveals a community divided between those who cherish the hidden-away nature of this dining spot and others who highlight minor shortcomings in menu variety. Given its focus on traditional flavors over contemporary interpretations, the Khmer Hidden Home Restaurant restaurant appeals most strongly to diners seeking an unembellished taste of local cuisine. The overall impression is one of genuine cultural engagement, with a few practical considerations surrounding dining logistics and seasonal menu shifts. Feedback suggests a place better visited with moderate expectations, where the delight lies more in the authentic ambiance and staple dishes than in culinary surprises.

Came for lunch and tried a Cambodian chicken curry variant - delicious, along with spring rolls. The spring rolls weren't great and loosely wrapped. Also had an Iced Coffee, which was extremely sweet even though I requested no sugar. I think they used some powder with sugar in it and not real coffee. Super friendly staff who served me fruits for dessert! Prices were really good but I would not recommend either the spring rolls (fresh) nor the ice coffee (if you expect black coffee).

The service was terrific, they serve tea and fruits on the house too! My only complaint is that I ordered breaded fried tofu but got served regular fried tofu. I know it’s probably not really a khmer dish, but the picture is rather misleading. I can’t say about local dishes as I haven’t tried it. The price was very affordable as well.

Came here 4-5 times on my trip. Local food that is very good and affordable. They are extremely nice and give free iced tea and a free fruit platter for dessert.

Simple outside location with freshly cooked food, cold beer cans from the fridge and lovely staff. Recommended for grabbing a little snack or having some some local dishes in a not fancy environment.

Amazing restaurant (especially for vegetarians), my favourite place in Cambodia! We came here 4 times in a 2 day period, the food and host were that amazing. The food is truly local dishes, you get a refreshing ice tea when you first arrive and you get a fruit platter after your meal at no extra cost. The atmosphere was so comfortable, we came back so many times because we felt like we were having dinner at a relatives house. P.S. for any vegetarians, this is a fantastic little place as he is more than happy to substitute tofu in all of the dishes

Fish or chicken green curry was amazing! Big portion and affordable price. The complementary fruit at end of meal is so kind.

Great wonderful friendly team. We loved the free tea and free fruits. The lok lak was good but the fries were not really that great. We also had the Samlor kthihtrob which was really good. No complaints. Both main dishes were waaaaay too big so this is a plus! The starter (Wontons) were not really great - we expected pork but it was only some watery vegetables. Nevertheless the service and friendliness were unsurpassed. If they improve the wontons and the fries it is a 5/5.

Delicious Chicken amok for $3 (12,000khr). The ladies were really nice and I got a glass of tea and fruits for free. I recommend!
